Encompassing the entire upper level of the building and elevated above the bustle of Bell Street, it is bright and airy with daylight streaming in from three sides. The Ballroom is a blend of luxury and industrial chic: wide plank oak floors, brick and board-formed concrete walls, leather-wrapped columns, blackened steel, and massive old-growth timber. Amenities include a fully equipped prep kitchen, modern ADA compliant rest rooms, and state-of-the-art AV equipment with two retractable screens. The Ballroom is connected to the Courtyard, a landscaped oasis accessible through a large glass roll-up door.

The Courtyard is Block 41’s secret garden. Tucked into the heart of busy Belltown, this secluded outdoor space is private and serene and at the same time energized by the surrounding presence of the city. It is a landscaped garden of delights, from the whimsical “Greetings” mural by graffiti artist Victor Vong to the magically illuminated stainless steel fence created by artist Stephen Hirt. The Courtyard’s 12-foot tall living wall and evergreen landscaping introduce nature into the space creating a welcoming oasis within downtown Seattle. The large ipé wood deck is perfect for banquet seating whether open to the stars or tented. The Bert & Tot Ballroom merges seamlessly with the Courtyard through a large glass roll-up door.

The Musings Gallery is Block 41’s most intimate space. An art gallery as well as an event space, the Musings Gallery includes its own private Bell Street entrance. Large storefront windows welcome in the outdoors with ample natural light dappled through the trees of Bell Street Park. State-of-the art lighting system with expandable DMX controls makes it possible to customize the lighting palette for every occasion. Polished concrete floors, sandblasted timbers and elements of blackened steel create a crafted contemporary vibe within the charm of a vintage building. A moveable wall at the rear of the gallery allows the space to be combined with the adjoining Ewing Theater if a larger space is desired.
